11.11.2006 - Fiendish Fables to be Published!
Fans of the classic horror and suspense comics of yesteryear will be happy to hear about the upcoming publication of FIENDISH FABLES, my new anthology releasing from Brain Scan Studios in March 2007. Look for it in the January issue of Diamond Comic Distributors’ Previews catalog.

My purpose with FIENDISH FABLES was to assemble a collection of creepy tales inspired by the classic horror comics that defined the genre. This anthology includes seven of my own tales, plus two stories by talented guest writers, all brought to life by an amazing group of artists. Prepare yourself for marauding zombie kids, a bloodthirsty vampire horse, vengeance-seeking storybook creatures, a wild west monster, the debut of Goth Ghost Girl, a ghastly gallery, and much more! The book features an amazing pulp-inspired cover by David Wachter.

11.16.2005 - Dandelion signed by Arcana Studio!
The contracts have been signed and approved, so now I'm permitted to make the official announcement that Dandelion will be published by Arcana Studio! Originally conceived as a 6-issue mini-series, the title will instead be packaged together into a full-color trade paperback. Sergio Apodaca's artwork is manga- and anime-influenced, so publishing in this format will allow Dandelion to be marketed beside other manga books and make the leap to bookstores as well as comic book specialty shops. Joining Sergio on the art team are inker Jose de Jesus Salas and colorist Mauricio Pinzon.
11.16.2005 - New artist announced for Kingdom Macabre!
Before I could finish developing Kingdom Macabre with original series artist Vitor Ishimura, he got the call to the “big leagues.” Although I was genuinely thrilled for Vitor, it put me back at square one with this project. Now I’m pleased to welcome Ig Barros from Big Jack Studio as the new penciler! Ig’s remarkably “realistic” depictions of imaginative creatures, costumes, and settings are absolutely perfect for a fantasy story like Kingdom Macabre. Ig will be illustrating the first two story arcs (8 issues total) in this trilogy, and I might talk him into the third as well! There is strong publisher interest in this project, so check back for updates on the status of Kingdom Macabre.
11.16.2005 - New artist announced for Thistleheart!
When original series artist JP Dupras was unable to continue working on Thistleheart, I put the project on hiatus until a new match could be found. The ensuing talent search introduced me to a number of skilled artists and now---after a very difficult decision---I’m pleased to announce that Eduardo Pansica will be bringing the story to life! Eduardo is the second artist from Big Jack Studio to work on one of my titles, and I’m confident you’ll agree that his rendition of Thistleheart is incredible. The same publishers who expressed interest in the original version of this project are very excited about Eduardo leading the new art team, so stay tuned for further announcements about the first Thistleheart mini-series.
11.16.2005 - Unicorn Park short story generates a contract offer!
The very first Unicorn Park story appears in Armageddon Dance #1, an anthology of stories about good vs. evil. Based on that short story, a publisher that we can’t yet announce made an offer to publish Unicorn Park as a 5-issue, color mini-series. A more formal announcement will be made as soon as all the details are official. Best of all, original artist Freek van Haagen will be illustrating the mini-series!
11.16.2005 - Fablewood Studios Live!
Thanks to the multi-talented Jeremy Mohler at Brier Row Studio, there is now an official online home for my writing projects! So take a look around and learn about the mission of Fablewood, check out the previews of my forthcoming comic books, maybe even browse the ever-expanding souvenir store (comics will be available online soon). I’d love to hear from you, so drop me a line whether you’re submitting artwork samples, inquiring about the publishing or licensing rights to any property, or just saying hello. In the future I’ll be adding profiles of some of the amazing artists who collaborate with me, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a comic book page, announcements about the development of my children’s books and novels, computer goodies like buddy icons and wallpapers (maybe even some games!), more products in the Fablewood Studios store, and much more!
